Scivation NOVEM Muscle Building Supplement
Scivation NOVEM Muscle Building Supplement
When Scivation decided to develop a new muscle building supplement—which ultimately became Scivation NOVEM—the company's goal was to use only ingredients that had been scientifically shown to benefit humans. They didn't want to just dazzle customers with some strange herbal concoction that nobody had ever heard of and that has no proven benefit; they wanted to create a research-based formula that would truly enhance the user's training results. Nor did they want a product that would provide a "caffeine pump" with only temporary effects; they wanted something that would deliver real improvements in your workout results.
With Scivation NOVEM the company accomplished that.
Even the name is significant. Novem is Latin for "nine," which tells you how many ingredients are working together in Scivation NOVEM to boost your workout:
1. Creatine Monohydrate
To really understand how Scivation NOVEM works, let's look at each ingredient by itself and see why this is such a solid performer as a pre-workout supplement.
1. Creatine monohydrate
The human body synthesizes creatine from the amino acids arginine, methionine, and glycine. Creatine regenerates ATP, which is the body's primary source of energy.
When you increase the amount of creatine in your muscles through supplementation, you increase your body's ability to regenerate ATP. This means higher energy and a better workout.
Scientific research has shown that the most effective creatine supplementation is through creatine monohydrate. Studies indicate that creatine monohydrate improves the body's performance during high intensity exercise, increases power output and work capacity, enhances muscle strength and size, boosts strength training, and enhances muscle glycogen accumulation and glucose transporter expression. Scivation NOVEM contains high quality micronized creatine monohydrate, which is easily used by the body.
Beta-alanine and histidine comprise the dipeptide carnosine, which is an important metabolic buffer in skeletal muscle. It helps keep your acid-base ratio in balance when your muscles have a high concentration of free H+/free radicals, which happens during exercise and causes fatigue and decreased performance. When you use beta-alanine supplementation to increase carnosine levels, you decrease the accumulation of H+ during exercise. You have more stamina and improved performance.
Studies show that beta-alanine is a very effective performance enhancing supplement, and that it helps build lean mass as well. It's particularly effective when combined with creatine monohydrate. Beta-alanine also gives you more stamina and enhances what you can do during an exercise session. Scivation NOVEM contains a patented form of beta-alanine, CarnoSyn®.
Taurine is the most common amino acid in the heart, brain, leukocytes, and retina, as well as in skeletal muscles. It's a nonessential amino acid. Taurine is different form other amino acids in that it's not used in protein synthesis but is involved in other cellular processes.
When you exercise, you deplete the taurine levels in your skeletal muscles. Supplementing with taurine hopes your body meet its increased metabolic demand, enhance performance, and increase your fat oxidation during long exercise sessions.
Tyrosine is another nonessential amino acid involved in neurotransmitter production, thyroid hormones, and melanin. Heavy exercise reduces the amount of the neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. When you supplement with tyrosine, you increase the raw materials the body has available for the production of dopamine and norepinephrine.
Research shows that supplementing with tyrosine helps offset fatigue and the negative effects of stress and improves cognitive performance and ability. It also reduces cardiovascular stress, and lets you work longer and harder. Scivation NOVEM contains the acetylated form of tyrosine acetyl-L-tyrosine, which is soluble in water and chemically stable.
5. Caffeine anhydrous
Caffeine is a plant alkaloid that's found in tea leaves, cocoa beans, and other plants, and of course, coffee beans. Caffeine is the world's most widely used stimulant. It's a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that slows fatigue and improves cognitive performance.
Research has shows that caffeine enhances thermogenesis and lipid oxidation, increases peak power output, and boosts endurance. Scivation NOVEM contains high quality caffeine anhydrous.
N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant that's derived from the non-essential amino acid cysteine. Besides being an antioxidant itself, NAC also participates in the synthesis of the powerful antioxidant glutathoine. Glutathione, in turn, regenerates vitamins C and E.
Intense exercise depletes glutathione, so supplementing with NAC can help increase glutathione levels. It also can enhance your performance by scavenging free radicals in its role as an antioxidant itself, and by increasing the levels of glutathione.
Studies have shown that NAC supplementation improves exercise performance by increasing cysteine and glutathione availability, slowing fatigue, decreasing muscle soreness and oxidative stress from exercise, and slowing respiratory muscle fatigue during exercise.
Cysteine supplements are unstable, so supplementing with NAC is more successful. Scivation NOVEM contains the more stable NAC.
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is an enzyme that the body produces naturally. It functions as a co-factor for energy production and also is a potent antioxidant. However, it's different from other antioxidants that are soluble in only fat or only water and have antioxidant properties only in some tissues and organs. ALA has antioxidant properties in all tissues because it's water soluble and its metabolite dihydrolipoic acid is fat soluble; this combination allows it to reach all the tissues in the body. In addition, ALA recycles both itself and vitamin C, works together with vitamin E, and increases glutathione levels.
Nutritionists believe that ALA increases insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake, which can lead to beneficial changes in body composition and overall improvement in your general health. Studies have shows that ALA combined with creatine is more effective at increasing creatine content than supplementing with creatine alone. It also decrease oxidative damage caused by exercise. Scivation NOVEM contains NA-R-ALA, which is the more stable isomer of ALA.
8. Vitamin C
Many of the health benefits of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are well known. It's a water soluble vitamin that's involved in synthesis of bones, ligaments, collagen, and blood vessels and the production of carnitine; it also acts as an antioxidant.
Research has shown that Vitamin C reduces muscle soreness and exercise-induced oxidative damage, and prevents exercise-induced lipid peroxidation and muscle damage.
The body can't produce Vitamin C, so you have to take it in some form. Scivation NOVEM contains Vitamin C to reduce muscle damage and soreness from your workouts.
9. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is another vitamin whose health benefits are well documented. It's a fat soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant by scavenging peroxyl radicals and inhibiting lipid peroxidation of cell membranes, which decreases oxidative damage.
Studies have shown that Vitamin E decreases muscle damage and reducing exercise-induced oxidative damage. When you taken Vitamin E before and after your workout you have less muscle damage and soreness. Scivation NOVEMcontains alpha tocopherol, which is the most active form of vitamin E in the body.
Scivation NOVEM's nine ingredients are scientifically proven to enhance performance and results in athletes. Supplementing with Novem will increase muscle size and strength, enhance performance and recovery, reduce oxidative stress and muscle damage, boost energy and cognitive performance, delay fatigue, and enhance fat oxidation.
Scivation NOVEM will deliver the effects and results you want from a pre-workout supplement!
