glutamine levels when compared to any current supplement on the market. The fact of the matter is that research has proven free form L-glutamine to be unstable. Unfortunately, it quickly disintegrates in solution. This means it will not reach your blood in the concentrated form, which is necessary to replenish higher levels of glutamine. Furthermore, most of the research that has been done was handled in medical facilities on subjects that were able to receive glutamine intravenously. If these people were unable to benefit from glutamine there would be no way that a supplement with L-glutamine would help you.

However, Peptide Transported Glutamine, which is found in ThermoLife G-Tek has been clinically proven to hold up in the body and to be extremely soluble in liquid. In addition, research has shown that it has been absorbed through the digestive tract, and retained by the blood and tissues that will send it to the muscle cells to perform metabolic functions that are necessary.

These functions include:

• Adding Muscle Mass
• Stopping Catabolic Muscle Loss
• Increasing Growth Hormone Levels
• Improving Immune Functions
• Stabilizing Blood Sugar
• And More

The simple truth is you cannot experience the same benefits from other glutamine supplements because they use L-glutamine. If you want to see the benefits you need to give ThermoLife G-Tek a try.

Why is Glutamine Important?

Glutamine is not just important it is a conditionally essential amino acid. In cases with essential amino acids, the body will normally ingest them through food or nutritional means. The reason for this is because your body cannot manufacture these particular amino acids. Glutamine, which is considered to be a non-essential amino acid can become conditionally essential if the body's supply has depleted to a dangerous level. Glutamine is the most important conditionally essential amino acid because it provides vital functioning for the body and for athletic training.

50% of the body's amino acids are actually Glutamine. Generally, these amino acids are going to synthesize proteins, build muscle, and provide beneficial functioning that would not be possible without them. When it comes to Glutamine the top metabolic function is to maintain a level of glucose metabolism. Glutamine is able to convert to glucose without playing with your insulin or glucagon levels, which are the hormones that regulate your blood sugar. As your carbohydrates deplete, glutamine is able to reduce fat loss without removing lean body mass. Glutamine is an energizing source that helps to maintain proper muscle functioning by switching glucose to glycogen, which is stored in the muscles.

Glutamine is also one of the contributors able to help repair gastrointestinal tract cells. It also has the ability to help build up the immune system. In the immune system glutamine adds to nucleic acid synthesis, which is necessary for proper cell growth. Furthermore, glutamine helps the intestinal tract to stop the passage of bacteria into the bloodstream. In short, glutamine is necessary to athletes with injuries because it will help them to recover much faster than anything else of this kind.

Glutamine is able to release growth hormones into the body. According to studies, just two grams of glutamine was able to up growth hormone levels by an additional 400%. This is excellent news because increased growth hormone levels tend to mean muscle growth. Glutamine has the ability to convert to glutathione. This is a strong anti-oxidant that can help prevent cellular breakdown. In addition to all of these positive effects, glutamine crosses the blood-brain barrier where it converts to glutamic acid, which has been shown to help improve mental alertness as well as relax the body. Glutamine also works as a neurotransmitter, which allows the glutamine levels to affect the brain and nervous system.

When it comes to your muscles a glutamine shortage will mean that your muscles will suffer a break down and your muscles will be open to muscle waste. If you are a body builder that goes through rigorous training on a regular basis it is highly important that your body maintains the right amount of glutamine before and after training sessions.

For the intestines, glutamine is essential, and in the immune system it has the same affect as gas to a car. Glutamine is also used to synthesize DNA, enzymes and proteins in your active cells. Glutamine helps to maintain all the most important parts of your bodily health by maintaining acid levels and alkaline balances found in the blood.

As you regulate your glucose metabolism the glutamine will help to maintain the level of glycogen that has been stored in your muscles. This is necessary if you are going to be handling strenuous exercise. Glutamine levels are critical when it comes to your brain because they are a precursor to other neurotransmitters, which keep your brain functioning properly.

In a normal body adequate glutamine levels can be sustained by using other amino acids. However, in athletes and body builders that is impossible due to strenuous workouts and injuries that remove the glutamine from their body. When a body takes on that much work it is impossible for it to replace the glutamine and additional amounts need to be added into the body through food or supplements.

If you are training as an athlete you are removing large amounts of glutamine from your body when you train. Exercise in large amounts will lower the blood concentration of glutamine and it's possible that the levels will be unable to be recovered by the next workout.

According to studies, athletes that work hard, but are not seeing improving performances are suffering from low glutamine levels. When this happens the athlete runs the risk of losing muscle mass and could be at risk of injuries and other health problems.

Using a Glutamine Supplement

For an athlete to maintain healthy body functioning they need to maintain the proper levels of glutamine. This is the only way they will remain healthy and receive the benefit of their training. Glutamine levels need to be maintained at all times in an athlete otherwise they will have problems with energy levels, muscle tissue loss, and sustaining growth hormone levels. Nerve and brain function could suffer if enough glutamine is missing from your system, as well.

It is necessary that the athlete is able to produce higher levels of glutamine in their bloodstream before a workout. This will ensure their body has a reserve in place so that when the training depletes some there is extra. Glutamine is essential because in strength training it is both anabolic and anti-catabolic, which means it will both build and protect muscle.

The best thing an athlete can do is to load up on glutamine through supplements before those hard workouts. This will ensure you have a good reserve of glutamine. As you move through the workout, your glutamine blood level will dictate how well your body performs where your muscles, nerves, and brain is concerned. As the workout ends supplementing glutamine is necessary to restore the glutamine that you've lost through exercise. It's necessary to rebuild and restore the protein that is found in glutamine because it will help your body recover and clear you for future strenuous workouts.

In the past, doctors have offered L-glutamine intravenously to combat issues of stress. The downside of this for an athlete would be that it is not bioavailable. This means that it will not reach the blood levels that are necessary to keep a healthy level of glutamine in the body.

Amino acids contain peptides, which are linked by peptide bonds. Amino acids are linked in strings that vary in size. The peptides (strings) are the main part of protein. A short link of peptides are linked in two, three, or more. Di- and tri-peptides are two examples of short links. They are stable in solution and are so soluble they will completely dissolve in solution.

In addition, they are absorbed easily when put into the digestive tract. As they are retained and not excreted out of the body they are considered to be bioavailable. This means they are able to repair muscle, add energy, and help the building blocks of DNA, along with many other important bodily functions.

Peptide-bonded glutamine is used to repair muscle tissue. Glutamine is able to repair muscle cells quickly while it breaks down free floating glutamine. While this happens it is also performing the proper metabolic functions. This type of glutamine is more efficient and is more suited for the needs of athletes that want to improve their body in the healthiest way possible.

ThermoLife G-Tek is available in tablet form because powdered glutamine has too many drawbacks. The result of this supplement in powder form with juice or any other beverage would be far too bitter for consumption. In tablet form these problems do not exist. Thermolife is the first company to discover this and offer such a solution for this important need.

This should make you choice an easy one. If you're an athlete that trains hard then you need ThermoLife G-Tek. The glutamine is necessary for proper body function and growth. Don't attempt to be a hard core athlete without it!
