Purpose of Exercise: To work the legs with
emphasis on the thighs and the outside sweep of the thigh.
Execution:
Bring your arms underneath the bar at the rack. Cross your
arms hooking either hands or your thumbs around the bar and
support the bar on your front shoulders keeping your elbows
high. Step back and separate your feet for balance. (You can
use a low block underneath your heels for balance also.) Keep
your head up, knees bend and back straight. Lower yourself
down until you are below parallel. Push back up to the starting
position keeping constant tension on the thighs. Try to do
this exercise in front of a mirror to make sure you are keeping
good form.
